As earthenware is porous and can absorb moisture, we recommend it is stored on open shelves in a dry atmosphere.
To minimize your pottery absorb color or smell of food, we recommend you to soak it into water for an hour, then dry it completely, before your first usage.
It is the best to briefly wet the pottery each time before you use it.
Crazing is of the charm of the earthenware. It is caused by a sudden change in temperature. The glaze may develop a very fine hairline pattern on the surface. In Japan this delicate web-like
pattern is deemed to enhance the aging of the pottery and you can still continue to use it indefinitely.
