Patterns of Coral

The unique, irregular pattern is created by pressing shells and coral from near by beaches into the surface of the clay.

In the case of stony and hard corals, these polyp conglomerates grow, die and endlessly repeat the cycle over time, slowly laying the foundation for the reef or in this case being reborn into pottery. The cycle of growth, death and regeneration is a theme that embodies the artwork."
